Description :

UNIT MANAGEMENT :

·         Staff nurse will take over the charge duty nurse of previous shift , regarding patients (bed to bed) , instruments supplies , drugs etc. And hand over the same to the next shift.

·         Staff nurse will assess the needs of the patients in the ward and make nursing care plan for all patients consulting with ward sisters.

·         The nurse will fulfill all basic needs , (hygienic needs , nutritional needs etc)of the patient  

·         Nurse will ensure to make the ward clean and tidy including bed

·         Routine care and cleaning of trolleys , cupboards

·         Nurse will keep all articles well arranged and maintain the inventory

·         The nurse will give direct patient care ( bed making , changing of bed sheets , back care , changing of position etc) and alloted care to her by the ward sisters

·         The nurse will provide comfort to patient and maintain safety to the patient.

·         Admission and Discharge of the patient   

·         Assistance and instructions to patients and their relations

TECHNICAL NURSING CARE OF PATIENTS:

·         Administration of medicine

·         Administration of injections

·         Assistance in administration of I/V injections

·         Preparation of injections clearing up

·         Recording of medication and injections given

·         Taking and charting of temperature and pulse respiration and blood pressure

·         Rounds with doctor on technical procedure e.g. Enema, catheterization, dressing, irrigation, oxygen therapy, preparing for and clearing up after procedure

·         Preparation for and assistance in clinical tests and medical procedure.

NICU:

·         To maintain the prepared standard protocol of asepsis strictly

·         To maintain the hand washing protocol , dress protocol as prescribed

·         To autoclave and disinfect necessary articles , instruments , linen , gadgets , equipment etc.

·         To check all electrical points, pipe line oxygen, in built suckers for proper maintenance of unit

·         To prepare the drugs, crash trolly etc. Properly

·         To check monitor, ventilator, all lifesaving gadgets for proper working condition

·         To fumigate the department periodically

·         To keep records all the procedures of the patient neatly.
